                                              Acupuncture can treat sciatica pain

Sciatica pain is one of the most common diseases that many people suffer. Sciatica is marked by pain radiating to the foot from lumbar region, buttocks, posterior, side of the thigh and lateral side of shank.

There are different type of sciatica pain, such as: obstruction by cold- dampness; Asthenia of kidney Qi; Stagnation of Qi and blood etc.

According to the patients symptom, the Acupuncturist should use a particularly needling technique. For the treatment of cold-dampness, reducing needling technique. Warmed needling or moxibution with moxa roll are used with the addition of cupping. For the treatment of kidney asthenia, reinforcing needling technique, warmed needling or moxibustion with moxa cone are used. For the treatment of stagnation, blood letting is done on certain point or on the collaterals around.

Acupuncture is an effective therapy for the sciatica pain. The treatment can relax and stretch the tendons and fascia while strengthening the muscles also improve circulation, that is why after acupuncture, the patient’s pain is gone.
